Starring Leigh Ann Taylor, Steve Gillam, Helena Levitt, and Daniel Gervais

Rave Reviews for Within The Glass the 2017 Governor General award nominated play by Anna Chatterton directed by award-winning theater and film director and producer Dale Hayes

Within The Glass explores all the wrenching questions that so plague our modern society regarding family, parenting, and the making and unmaking of babies. Add reproductive technologies and medical malpractice and you have a combustible mix in this worst kind of mix-up.

Loosely based on a news story about fertility gone wrong the play focuses on the very real struggles of two couples. Hayes does a superb job of directing this ensemble cast who play well against each other as they portray their characters with conviction delivering their lines on cue. The realistic up-to-date decor and contemporary costumes make the audience feel right at home in the Segal Studio at the Segal Center.

Ultimately, this true-to-life story about all too modern characters caught in a post-modern nightmare raises important societal questions about identity, roots, and to whom children belong when medical science takes center stage and Mother Nature is left waiting in the wings.
