THE CHAIN written & directed by Vittorio Rossi and produced by Susan Fuda, Executive Producer Barry F. Lorenzetti, MAGJUSJEN Entertainment at Moyse Hall Theatre, McGill University
THE CHAIN reprises Rossi's first full-length play which set box office records when it opened the Centaur Theatre's 20th Anniversary Season in 1988 before going on to rave reviews at the National Arts Centre in Ottawa.
It is a true-to-life story about an Italian immigrant family living in the Montreal borough of Ville Emard where Rossi grew up. Rossi is widely regarded as Canada's preeminent playwright of the immigrant experience.
THE CHAIN has a universal appeal as it delves into family dynamics when the interests of various family members clash and their shared identity and family unity is imperiled.
The play features well-known Montreal actors Harry Standjofski and Paul Van Dyck with Vince Benvenuto, Paulina Cossio, Toni Ellwand, Giuliano Fiorilli, Saro Saroyan, and Alexandra Valassis rounding out the cast.
This is a must-see event for anyone who wants to dive deeper into the cultural history of Montreal brought to life by its own native son Vittorio Rossi.
